Ágota Aranyos

      She perfected her pedagogical studies at the Budapest Teacher Training College, as a history major at the Eger Esterházy College of Teacher Training and as a folk dance teacher at the Hungarian Institute for Public Education. She conducted studies in historical dances at the Vienna Music Academy and in Sable in France.

      She has been a teacher of Hungarian folk dance since 1990, and has been the art director and choreographer of the country's only dance ensemble specializing in historical dances, the Wizard (Garabonciás) Children's Ensemble, for 10 years. She has been an instructor in historical dance at the Department of Musical Studies of the Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences since 2001.

      She established the Company Canario Historical Dance Company nine years ago, which she is the art director and choreographer of, for the purpose of making popular the dances of old times, from the arrival of the Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin to the 20th century, in Hungary and abroad, in addition to raising the popularity of old music that is enjoyed by an increasingly large number of people.

      Among her choreographes: Vero Amore - renaissance ballet production, Portrait of love - Ballet on Handel's Water music, Wandering - From the court of King Matthias to the XXth Century, Handel: Fireworks (Company Canario), Monteverdi: Ballo delle Ingrate, The passage of arms of Tancred and Clorinda, Fairy Evening from Reform Period - TV play with XIX Century ball dances (Hungarian Television) La Fontaine - Lully Animal Stories, "Children's games (plays)" - based on Brughel's painting.
